Campanile di Giotto Giotto's bell tower, known as the Camanile di Giotto, was started in 1334 and is clad in the same three coloured marbles of those in the Duomo. Giotta only completed the first two levels before his death in 1337. Andrea Pisano changed the design and then decided to quit in 1348. The bell tower was eventually completed by Francesco Talenti between 1350-1359. There are many statues and reliefs in the lower levels of the tower, including works by Donatello and Andrea Pisano but they are all copies, the oriiginals now reside in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo. The tower stands at 84 metres and there are 414 steps to the top. Open: Daily 8.30am-7.30pm Price: 6
