Fashion Shows (January)
Florence hosts five of the most important fashion events in the international calendar.
Viareggio Carnival (February)
The Viareggio Carnival gets underway during February and is an ancient propriatory rite dating back to the 17th century.
Florence Gift Mart (February and September)
The Florence Gift Mart is held twice a year at the Fortezzo da Basso and lasts between 3 or 4 days.
International Handicrafts Fair (April)
The International Handicrafts Fair is held over 9 days at the end of April in the Fortezza da Basso.
Cricket Festival (May)
The Cricket Festival, Festa del Grillo, is a Florentine tradition that takes part in Cascine Park.
Historic Soccer (June)
Historic Soccer, Calcio Storico, is performed in historically correct Renaissance costumes.
Fiesole Summer (June)
The festival has been going since 1948 and is held from June and September.
Amici della Musica (October)
The Amici della Musica was established in 1919 by Alberto Passigli and is held in the month of October.
Festival dei Popoli (November)
Florence's film festival, Festival dei Popoli is held in November/December and is a week long event.
Florence International Arts Biennale (December)
The International Arts Biennale is held every two years, in December, at the Fortezza da Basso and was established in 1997.
The International Music Festival was established in 1999 and offers young European musicians a unique experience in Italy.
