Galleria degli Uffizi The Uffizi Gallery was intended to house the offices of the Medici family, who set aside room to house the finest works from their collections. Probably the most famous museum of paintings and sculpture in Italy, and possibly the world. The building was built between 1560 and 1580 by Giorgio Vasari. The museum houses Primitive and Renaissance paintings including masterpieces that are universally acclaimed, and date from the 13th century to the 18th century. On show you will find collections by famous artists Michelangelo, Botticelli, Rubens, Caravaggio, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Giotto, Cimabue, Beato Francesca, Rembrandt, Goya to name but a few!
