Italy Beaches
Italy has a wealth of beaches, and although some of the shore is rocky, you are never far from a beach. You may find that beaches are divided up into stabilimenti, and are owned by private businesses who charge an admission price. Sun loungers, deckchairs, towels and changing rooms are usually included in the price and you will usually find a bar or a restaurant, meaning you can stay on the beach all day!
There are stretches of free beaches, spiagga libera, although you mayneed to walk a fair distance to find one. All coastal towns have local stretches of beach and hotel staff can give good advice of where the best places are to go. Some hotel have their own stabilimento, or have arrangements in place for reduced prices for guests.
